My city, Chicago, is full of energy to host Olympics in 2016!
If you walk along the Lake Michigan in the evening, you can see many building lights are turned on, making some phrases like... "Chicago 2016" or "2016 Olympics." Though some people oppose to host Olympics in Chicago (surveyed by the Chicago city government)-- they are arguing that they have to pay more taxes to host the games, and they don't want the city to be crowded by people, and they want the city government to spend money on them, rather than foreigners --- the city government seems to haul up the Olympics project.
I, personally, believe that Olympics in Chicago would bring more benefits than side-effects to Chicago itself. First of all, if Chicago hosts the game, many people will visit Chicago --- they will have to spend money in Chicago-- they will look around the city, go eat at restaurant, enjoy the beach along the lake Michigan, stay in hotels, and buy souvenirs. For sure, economic benefits right?
Also, if the city is chosen as a host city, the city government should rebuild some shallow, dirty, dangerous area into clean, modern, attractive area-- not only for the visitors but also for the fame of Chicago itself. Then,Chicagoans as well as visitors would get benefit from it!
Thirdly, needless to say that the name value of Chicago would go high! & Chicago people will have opportunity to cooperate each other and build inter-fellowship.
Nice.. Isn't it?
