OMG ----I can't believe it happened to me, too! I just got notice from my institute saying that I could go Germany to Study Abroad for a year! With all my friends who also got acceptances from several other countries, I screamed, ran the whole aisle and jumped on sofas. However, before I got too excited about it, I needed to calm down, sit on my comfortable chair with hot chocolate, and think about what I should start to prepare to make the one year so worthy in my life. Well... I can start packing just a week before my departure, and I can start looking for some nice places in Germany just a month before my departure. Nonetheless, I noticed that unless I start studying German right now, I will have bunch of problems!!! I, of course, do not want to such bad things happen. Thus, I, Susie Hameinen, decided to start to study German!
This blog will include everything I find interesting about learning German, and I am gonna keep posting here as if this blog were my personal diary for German learning. :D Anyone who has interests in learning German (or any other languages, or study abroad) is welcome to visit, write comments, and share information!
So far, I have found some interesting and helpful websites to study German. Let me list down.
First of all, there are several online English-German dictionaries. I looked up for the word "kaufen (to buy)," and each website offers different exciting, beneficial information. What I want to recommend is bab.la which offers pronounciation, similar words, sample sentence and forums (discussion place about anything the word -related).
Secondly, I found a free online German course! With this website, I can learn expressions. It offers lessons step by step, and some example situation, which is also very helpful.
Well... then, with these websites, happy studies!
I guess I have to learn some basic information about Germany before I get started to learn German language :)
Bonus!
Here's a tiny tiny tiny tiny taste of how Germany looks like! yay!
